Production Management in Remanufacturing
Michael S. Spencer, Ph.D., CFPIM, Amad N. Choudhry, Eric A. Nesset,
and Edward Xia
Production Management in Remanufacturing is a systematic investigation of
production planning and control functions operating in remanufacturing.
This study is of interest to practitioners as remanufacturing grows and
effective production management is needed. The use of material
requirements planning, theory of constraints, and Just-in-Time to plan and
control manufacturing seems to require some modification to be effective
in remanufacturing. The authors frame the issues for debate. This subject
will grow as increasing public attention is given to the effect of the
environmental cost of waste and the value of recycling becomes apparent to
companies. To order book,

Production Planning and Control Practices for Remanufacturing
V. Daniel R. Guide, Jr., Ph.D., CPIM
Production Planning and Control Practices for Remanufacturing begins by
establishing that remanufacturing systems are widespread and profitable in
the United States. This new research offers current best practices to the
practitioner about where management differs on production and planning and
control activities in traditional manufacturing. To order book,

RESOURCE GUIDES
Remanufacturing Resource Guide
This resource provides a glossary of manufacturing and remanufacturing
terms, an expanded annotated bibliography of articles on remanufacturing,
an expanded list of reference books that have a major impact on
remanufacturing, and new articles on remanufacturing that are not
available in other APICS publications. To order the guide,
